Vision
We, the Filipino
Catholics of the Diocese of Samoa – Pago Pago, are a family of God committed
in our faith and Filipino traditions, commit ourselves to the building up of
God’s kingdom in our homes, workplace, and in the Parishes we belong, under
the guidance and inspiration of San Lorenzo Ruiz.
Mission
Our
mission is to build up, anticipate, and make the
kingdom
of
God
happen in the Filipino Chaplaincy.
Goal
To realize our
vision/mission, we must first of all be men and women believers of the values of
the kingdom, namely – joy, peace, justice, and fellowship.
Objectives
- To articulate
the needs, concerns, and hopes of the Filipino community in the Diocese
- To provide
a forum and establish a collaborative program that will address the issues
of Filipino Catholics
- To advocate
on behalf of the community, in making known the cultural and pastoral issues
of Filipino Catholics in the Diocese
- To be a resource
for groups, parishes, and diocesan departments with regards to cultural
understanding and religious sensitivity towards Filipino Catholics in the
Diocese
- To
establish strong community and networking relationships among
Filipino communities and their partners in mission
- To facilitate
effective communication and collaboration with the Bishop, chancery,
parishes, and the Filipino community
- To actively participate in and contribute to
the goals and programs of the Diocese of Samoa -
